Sprouting

The houseplants have had a tricky season this summer - a variety of small pests have been bothering them. There have been lots of sciarid flies about (little black jobs) along with their larva which live in the compost and nibble the roots; also an unusual infestation of greenfly. They attacked one of the spoon plants to such an extent its leaves were all distorted. So I resorted to radical surgery and cut the whole thing off at the base of its stalk (you can just see the stump here). I'm impressed at the amount of sprouting that's going on......

In other news, D has tested positive for COVID. :-(  Probably caught off one of the boat crew who often gives him a lift to the harbour. :-(
