Brownsea Island

We nearly did not go to Brownsea Island as the day started off misty and very wet. In the end we went and the weather improved. It is a great place to visit and we were fortunate to be able to join a conducted walk with a National Trust guide. The highlight of the walk was watching the red squirrels as they look for food. There are an estimated 200 adult red squirrels on the island and no predators. This population seems to balance with the supply of pine cones so is hopefully sustainable
