The protector of the lough!

Today I had to go to Ballymena to see the doctor and the dentist!  It was a horrible morning raining the whole way!  On the way back when I reached Antrim the sun came out and so I had lunch and went to the loughshore for a wee walk!  A new sculpture has arrived since I was last there - he represents Finn McCool a mythical giant.  There is an interesting story that the giant was fighting his enemy in Scotland and Finn picked up a large clump of earth and threw it at his enemy.  This created a large hole in the ground and when it filled with water it was called Lough Neagh!  The clump that Finn threw at his enemy missed the giant and became what we now know as the Isle of Man!!
