Common Enchantments

Congaree National Park

At the very dry Congaree Swamp today with Jerry and Brett. The area around the lower boardwalk is usually full of swamp water but today there are green things growing. We have had such a dry summer.

That white flower is called ladies tresses and it smelled good too!

There are so many huge tall trees here. Bald cypress and southern pine. In the collage I am sitting on a “burl” at the base of a huge pine tree.

A perfect day weather wise for a couple of miles walking. Then we had southern fried chicken at our favorite little diner, Bernie’s. We don’t get there often so it makes for a special treat! And no cooking or clean up for me!

My favorite kind of day!
