The Not-So-Mobile Phone

Can't quite remember where I got this old phone. It's one of the old black bakelite numbers dating from the 1940s or '50s and the handset alone weighs as much as my laptop.

It may be something of a museum piece but there's something wonderfully solid and permanent about it. I've seen modern replicas where the the dialling action is pushing buttons where the fingerholes are on this one but they're not a patch on the original.
