Snake in the grass

I took a walk in the woods today. Almost stepped on this large black snake. It coiled up in the strike position, something I have never seen a black snake do. I have seen a copperhead do it to me when I got way to close. It did not strike thankfully. Anyway he slithered off in his hole at the base of a tree and I continued on my way after a few quick shots. It was a beautiful day with several aggravations and a bit of really sad news from a friend. Life throughs punches but I try to roll with them and keep my chin up!
