Melton Mowbray

After a morning of sight singing we had the afternoon off.  Many of the group walked into the town and we decided to look at features on the Heritage Trail.

This included St Mary's Church, with one of its gargoyles, and The Anne of Cleves. The latter was built in the 14th Century and home to monastic priests. Its current name was after its late owner and advisor to Henry VIII, Thomas Cromwell,  who fell from favour; the house was then gifted to Anne of Cleves in her divorce settlement from Henry.

Dinner soon and then more singing.
