Posh Hen House

Drove across to NT's Felbrigg Estate this morning as there was an orienteering event in the woods to the north of the main house & walled garden. After 3 beautiful days in North Norfolk, today was wet, wet, wet. Almost didn't attend the event, but it was good once I got out into the woods - beautiful colours & lots of fungi, though I wasn't supposed to be looking at them while on my course! No stopping to take photos, either, so, after drying & changing & having lunch in the van I prowled around the walled garden. It's developed quite a bit since we were last there. The Blip is part of a hen house which has been built to resemble the 18th century octagonal dove house shown in the background. There were fluffy bantams living in style in the hen house & the dove cott is still functioning, too.

We're now back home, partly unpacked, with a thunderstorm going on outside..
