Waiting......

I went to visit my wife in hospital this afternoon. We had spent four and a half hours in A and E yesterday. Then after an ultra sound they diagnosed a gall stone. This will at some point require an op but for now they need to treat an infection. This required a transfer to another hospital to see a surgeon. The transfer took ages and she was then deposited into another waiting area. No beds! Finally at 5.20am she was put on a ward.
It has taken all afternoon for someone to decide she can be discharged and now we are waiting again for paperwork to be completed. Wheels turn slowly in hospitals.
Grateful that Suzy is well enough to go home, that the nurse on the ward has retained her sense of humour. Also that it has stopped raining after a heavy thunder storm.
