Taming The Tongue

It was a beautiful day at FBC as the church body came together to lift our hearts and voices in praise and worship to begin our service.  That was followed by the choir and orchestra doing a song that has become one of my favorites, "The Goodness Of God".  After more congregational singing, Pastor Wes took us to James 3:1-12.  That passage is known for a couple of things.  It begins by reminding those James was writing to of the great responsibility borne by those who become pastor and teachers in the church body and the greater accountability they have to preach and teach God's truth correctly.  The rest of the passage speaks about the power of the tongue and why  we are to control it, comparing it to a spark that can start a mighty blaze or a powerful poison in its ability to spread death and destruction, both literally and figuratively.  It would be worth your time to watch the Livestream to hear what all Pastor Wes has to say about it.  I know his sermon made me think about what I talk about and how I say things..........You know it is Pinktober and what to do with the link    https://thebreastcancersite.greatergood.com/clicktogive/bcs/home
