A new life

Two calves born today. This little one was born early this morning in the field. There have been six new calves since T and K went away four days ago and all is well.

T and his friends arrived back later all in one piece but sunburnt from a short break staying in Dubrovnik. He said it was lovely but very busy and a tourist trap. In fact they took a taxi and drove three and a half hours inland to Mostar in Bosnia and Herzegovina. A beautiful medieval town with the bridge rebuilt but much of it in ruins with a lot of sharp reminders of the war still remaining. There are also landmines yet to be discovered off the beaten track and the people are very poor. Young men try to collect money from the few visitors and then jump from a vast height off the bridge for a show, many of them breaking limbs or getting swept away. T and co did not wait round long enough to see what happened that day.

J looked after the farm while T was away.
