Waiting for Pizza
See LARGE.
There was once a time when I didn't use a camera every day but when I DID use one I'd go to a lot of trouble to get the picture I wanted and to make it the best that I could. I now acknowledge that using a camera everyday is probably more often than I would ordinarily want to do and I am finding that an alarming number of casual snapshots is entering my collection. A bit of a worrying trend.
Anyway, typical of my present state of mind, I find myself with the convenience camera in situations for which it is just not suited. While waiting to pick up a pizza at the bottom of Katoomba Street, I tried hand holding (at 1/8th second) just to see what I could find in the darkness. The place seemed deserted but a car drove past the Aldi building with the Jaycar store underneath, just across the intersection from where I was standing. This one looked nice and sharp with an interesting streaky image of the slowly passing vehicle. I didn't deserve for it to be any good but I am really quite proud of this after all. Hope you like it.
I must say that the G12 is remarkably easy to hand hold at slow shutter speeds. I'd have had no hope with one of the mirror slappers.
