One day at a time

Metro

Today I had a long awaited appointment with the respiratory specialist at the Freeman hospital in Newcastle. They wanted to check that I had recovered from my Covid-19 induced pulmonary embolism last May. At the time I hadn’t realised how ill I was. I have met many people since who have lost relatives to this illness. So I am fortunate, or lucky, or spared….
Parking at the hospital isn’t easy so I decided to use the Metro and walk (after a fairly long drive to the station near the airport). This is where I got off to walk. South Gosforth. I thought it was a rather lovely station so I took some photos. The rolling stock is, though, very old.
I nearly forget. A 50 minute thorough consultation, bloods, tests, oxygen level checks, examinations. Result: discharged, and firm advice about what to look out for - signs - in case one should form again.
No more blood thinners. I hope I shall be ok.
