Partial Eclipse

It's been another pottering day with a bit of housework, soon ceased when the vacuum battery died.  Well that's my excuse.   On the news at lunchtime it said there had been a partial eclipse, viewed best in our part of the World from Lerwick, which brought back fond holiday memories from earlier in the year.

Tony has been busy processing veg from the allotment so we will soon have apple puree and pies and beetroot chutney.  As I passed through the kitchen the sun was on the carving pumpkin which arrived in the supermarket delivery and it made me think of the partial eclipse.

Last night I had a brief conversation with Euan about the Christmas window and asked him what animals he would like to have on it.  He said, a giraffe, an elephant and a lion, so I guess it will be a jungle Christmas this year!  He had his first big fall from his new pedal bike this weekend, apparently going too fast over a speed bump, and has a nasty graze on his cheek.  Thank goodness for helmets.  Apparently, he was a little sad at Nursery when he related the story, but he has been back on his bike since.
