Unexpected Arrival

Early this morning we noticed this monarch caterpillar that had crawled out from some nearby plant and attached itself to the glass door of our back screen porch. 
The caterpillar also appeared to be in the process of J’ing up in preparation to create a chrysalis. After about 10 hours, by the early evening, that’s exactly what it did. Now we can’t use the back door unless we can somehow relocate the chrysalis. It’s also a bit late in the season, so who knows. 
Well anyway, we will keep an eye on it and hope for the best.
