Stroll through the woods

We met a couple of friends this morning for a 5 mile walk around Essendon.  The scenery was varied as we walked across fields, through woods and alongside the River Lea for a short time.  The leaves provided a golden carpet amongst the trees which gave some shade from a very warm sun.  Unusually hot for the time of year.

Lunch in the Five Horseshoes at Little Berkhamsted was welcome - a good day all round.
