Callum comes round for dinner. He cycles down from Edinburgh where he’s visiting his daughter - and it was harder than he thought.

I’ve cooked slow cooked pork, red cabbage, and tatties. There’s also the Colinsay gravadlax that Naomi gave me yesterday, which makes a suitable starter. And there’s the last of Kerry’s pecan pie for afters.

We’re sipping home made Slivovice as the witching hour approaches, but we decided to get the sleep we need like the responsible adults we are supposed to be.
