Cavollo Nero Flowers

Another full day in the garden, sunny and warm, we still have the strong wind which finally calmed down early evening. The blip is of Cavollo Nero (black kale) which has burst into flower, the insects will be very glad of this and I will collect seeds at the end of Summer.

Put another deep bed together and planted cabbage, spinach beet, good king Henry, calabrese and welsh onions. This one has a weed suppressing layer at it's base too.

I also planted a few more flowers into the new borders and am looking forward to everything flowering in the coming months.

MrD gave the shed a coat of creosote, it's been years since it was last done. He went off for a motorbike ride in the mountains this evening and said it was very enjoyable.
