Sad.

Ever since we've lived here, this piece of land has been surrounded by trees.

Until a couple of weeks ago, when they cut most of them down.

The sad thing is some of these trees were protected.  But when it comes to 'progress', suddenly they are not protected anymore.

This piece of land was bought for a new supermarket.  They put off building it, as they got into a bit of financial strife.  However, now they are going ahead with it.

When we first moved here there was one small supermarket and one petrol station.

Now they seem to be all over the place, and we certainly don't need any more of either of them.

It would've been nice if the council had bought the land back and made it into a park.

Because we could really do with a bigger park around here.  And I'm sure all the birds and animals would've appreciated it.
