Another Day

Point to Point Racing

Awoken with a cup of tea in bed this morning. (And some fruit) Spoilt I say, but wonderful.
Belinda was making sure we were awake in time to get to the Bristol Railway Station.
We were leaving Bristol and Belinda after some fantastic stunning filled days. (We can never thank you enough for your hospitality, company and information on our tours.)
It was a bank holiday, so the train filled up with people at all the stations along the way.
Most were heading for Weymouth, like Dups and I. It was so sunny all the way back, but when we got off the train, we felt the coolness and saw the fog. All those people who had great expectations for a sunny day on the beach were feeling cheated. Hopefully it burned off later in the day, as there was kite flying on the beach.
We were picked up off the train, rushed back to Trish and Terry's, drop off our gear and back into the car again and off to Littlewindsor, to attend the Cattistock Hunt Point to Point. Another whole new experience for me. You could say it is like a steeple chase but around paddocks, over fences, ditches and jumps. It is a great social meeting as well, and Dups caught up with many of her friends, and of course the obligatory wine was had.
Trish had prepared a super lunch, so we were spoilt again. The sun was shining and it was so warm.
As you can see the Stewards wear a black bowler hat, the bookies are there taking bets,
and once more the family pet, the dog comes along as well.
Fantastic country side, and we were all parked on a hillside, looking over the race course, and the country behind.
