Turning back

Sometimes the best decision is not to go on. We did that today because if high winds.

Here I'm braced and about to knocked sideways by the wind. Higher up I'd have been blown over, we all would have been.

Instead we had a scrub bashing adventure down into the valley we'd have dropped into via a scree slope from the other side, if we'd done the intended trip. The alternative adventure presented good opportunities to map read and route find.

Today's gratitude: For a good day in the mountains.
