2 Alpine Emmosan Dams…

This is the Vieux-Emosson, the lake created by the original Emmoson Dam which has amazing lunar landscapes all around it. I put the contrasting new lake created by the Dam finished in 1976, in extras, and a photo of the oldest fossils in Switzerland at the end of the path above the above lake, a vast slab of rock which carries the fossilised footprints of crocodile-like reptiles that roamed the earth more than 240 million years ago. What a fabulous walk in the autumn colours with 3 bearded vultures circling! And now we are out for dinner.
