Crazy About Birds

Red

It must be said that the Japanese maple in our yard turns - most years - a very satisfying shade of red. And does it late, after most of the trees have almost lost their leaves entirely. This tree was planted by the people who owned the house before us (we've been in it for 41 years) - people who owned the house rather briefly and did nothing in the way of renovating - it was an old farmhouse with no insulation to speak of and only rudimentary wiring - but did plant some things outdoors. Odd people. Anyhoo - it's bigger now than it was when we adopted it - and a couple of others have sprung up here and there from seeds.
