An open invitation to come back to the village hall and eat leftovers at lunchtime. The "leftovers" mysteriously included at least 30 kilos of mussels, delivered in a trailer after being cooked over an open fire with olive oil, garlic, and plenty of seasoning. They were delicious. That said, I was still so full from last night's feast that I only had one plateful. They were followed by actual leftovers: chicken in cream and mushroom sauce with rice, cheese, chocolate cake.

Some people had the energy to dance or play pétanque afterwards; I sloped off home for tea and a sofa snooze.
