Two Churches

The new Padre accepted our invitation to come for a drink at the Adega Velha after church this morning. Really lovely how everyone in there welcomed him and how he chatted with them so warmly. Here, Zé Maria was telling the priest that the Adega was his church.

Was amusing seeing folk stare at us as we, two Protestants, walked through the middle of town accompanied by the priest in his flowing white alb.

(Not good quality, but all I had on me was my phone, and the contrasts were a bit too much...)

And now we are in Lisbon, already done some informal translating, but tomorrow the real work begins.

Gratefuls:
- everyone being so welcoming in the Adega
- getting to Lisbon safely, us and the six men I'm translating for
- Lula winning the Brazilian election, heck, it was nail-biting, and now to pray against the violence...
