Beardmore Sculpture

The Beardmore Naval Construction Works was established in 1906 .
One of its most iconic creations is the dreadnought battleship the Ramillies.
The Ramillies, modelled here in galvanised steel, was commissioned by local residents.
The job went to local artist Tom MacKendrick, who served his time at the nearby John Brown shipyard in Clydebank.
Suppported on four pillars the  six metre long Ramillies is lit up at night

While waiting for my friend who was attending a couple of hospital appointments at The Golden Jubilee I enjoyed wandering round an area of Glasgow that I really don't know very well .... no sign of a cafe so I made full use of the very reasonable prices in the hospital cafe.
