From the garden

The squash are Muscatel de Provence and Lungo di Napoli. All grew late in the season when the terrible drought broke in mid-August. Hoping they will ripen up.

Chili peppers are cayenne. Again, strong secondary fruiting after drought but they need to be drying now.

Second extra is our loquat tree which blossoms at this time of year. Originally from China but spread throughout much of the world now. Called nespolo in Italian from mespilus for medlar but not related to the European medlar. Produces a slightly astringent fruit which I like - although this young tree has not produced fruit. Spain is big producer- 40 k tonnes a year.
