Beginning of the End

This beautiful little White Fungus Tremella fuciformis, aka Snow Fungus, White Wood Ear is happily growing on the trunk of our Flatwoods Plum tree. The Plum is a native tree that we planted 15 yrs ago in our back yard. Sadly it's limbs have been slowly dying for a couple of years and seeing this fungus confirms our suspicions. The White Fungus is edible and has been used in traditional Chinese medicine for centuries.
