It was shortly after high tide at the "Bridge to enchantment” so named by the author Nigel Tranter who wrote over 100 books.   Every day he would cross the footbridge into Aberlady nature reserve and walk with a notebook jotting down ideas for his books which were mainly historical novels.  It is certainly a bridge to enchantment for us at all seasons with its masses of flowers and butterflies in summer and sights and sounds of birds throughout the year and the sight of the sea which is sometimes very rough but it was calm today.  We watched hundreds of Pink-footed geese arrive and several deer which were almost camouflaged among the vegetation.
