Arabidopsis halleri

This rock-cress brightens up both woods and pastures in this district of the pre-Alps. Most individuals have white flowers but a small percentage have pink. It belongs to the same genus as A. thaliana which is a well know genetic and genome model for plants. A. halleri can accumulate zinc without ill-effect see here.
