skin of the apple

This title comes from a comment I got on Google+ when I posted this image there. "It makes me feel just how thin this little layer of atmosphere around the planet is: the skin of the apple." I liked the comment, even if it was a little over dramatic.

This is a tilt shift panorama. Instead of rotating the camera on the tripod. I used the shift operation of the tilt shift lens to move left and right. The lens has also been tilted downwards slightly to ensure foreground beach and Gourock in the distance are in focus.
