Quod oculus meus videt

Pelter Bridge

A final morning, and I headed to Ambleside as a warning had come on the car of a partly deflated tyre.  Unfortunately the garage's air pump was out of commission, though it did allow me to see that there was a fair deal of low mist and fog coming off Windermere.

I headed back to Rydal, but it seemed that this was the extent of the mist, later confirmed by a young man flying a drone.  It still allowed me to enjoy a couple of hours walking around the area at the foot of Lanty Scar, including this bridge that anyone who has driven along the A591 cannot have failed to notice.  The light was sublime and I have a lot of processing to do with other images taken before breakfast.

It was our last day in Grasmere.  We packed up and headed towards Keswick, partly to get to a petrol station to check the tyre but also in the hope of more good weather and a walk.  Despite the forecast, it became quite cloudy and we even had a small amount of rain as we walked up and down the old railway line towards Threlkeld.  We couldn't make it all the way, a tree had come down across the path in the poor weather on Wednesday and it was deemed to dangerous to pass.

We then headed home, enduring a number of delays due to road works and accidents on the M6.  A very pleasurable few days.
