Bodiam Camping Coach

We’re away for a long weekend with friends staying at the Kent and East Sussex Railway’s Camping Coach at Bodiam station.

It’s taken a couple of people over 6 years and £60k to convert a 1960s Mark 1 coach, take it to Bodiam, install decking and all the services.

It’s a fine conversion with a sitting room and kitchen diner and two bedrooms, one en-suite and one with a separate bathroom.

It’s very well done with neat touches, carpentry and marquetry, in a great position looking over the Rother Valley, the station and Bodiam Castle.

The heavy rain yesterday certainly had an impact here with the River Rother bank full, flooding in many places creating lakes and sodden fields where earlier this year tents and caravans once stood.
