A relic of another age

I love seeing little postboxes like this, inset into the wall of a building. This one is on the frontage between a picture framer and a florist in Horsell, themselves good examples of small High Street shops that we should cherish. The Royal crest shows that the postbox was installed during the reign of the late Queen but that did last 70 years and I doubt it will outlast the new King given the sharp decline in the use of "snail mail" in these email times. Somehow I don't see archived emails having the same emotional power as  handwritten letters that have been kept over the years.
