Library history

It was time to change my library books. We are fortunate to have a library in the village but we had to fight for it. Originally it was in a small converted garage, but when the local primary school was moved out of its original Victorian building to a modern replacement the village saw the potential for new library premises. Surrey County Council wanted to develop the old buildings into housing, and a long fight ensued. Eventually the school was partially saved and the library is now housed in what was originally the school hall. The rest of the school was converted into housing.
I have come home with my new library books. Will I have made a good choice, I wonder?
