Down Memory Lane

One of my first few blips back in 2011 was of pottery.  We were occasional visitors at a community pottery run by Jill at her home, close to where we stayed at Rhydyronen.  A remarkable lady.  She welcomed parents and children and encouraged them to find their creative talents.   When she died, almost ten years ago, she bequeathed a lot of the equipment to the community of potters in and around Tywyn that she had fostered.   The community set up a new pottery in one of the buildings on the old army camp at the edge of town.   Today they welcomed six new potters, the first new intake since the pandemic and I was one of them.   Five introductory sessions before having the option to become a regular member.   It was as much fun as I remember it being ... and this time round I'm not on childcare duty while I'm there.   A picture of Jill at work and of the shelves full of different glazes.

It's been a full day, work 10-130 for starters and the first meet up of a new Sea Shanty singing group in Tywyn for afters!   Singing promises to be lots of fun too and both pottery and shanties will lead to new friendships.   A happy day!
