Sandhill Crane

I encountered this Sandhill Crane (Antigone canadensis) while walking on the boardwalk in Crosswinds Marsh. These birds usually stay far from the trails, so it is a rare treat to get close enough to photograph one. We are still experiencing a moderate drought here in Michigan, and I have never seen the water level of this lake so low.
