Fika

We met John and Jennie at Jinney Ring for lunch and chat, almost a Fika but not quite.  Apparently Fika, a Swedish term, is closer to morning coffee, or possibly afternoon tea, though I think it's more a break in routine for a drink and cake.  Anyway we had a nice time and then had a wander round the lake and in the shops.  Unfortunately all the local ducks and geese had been locked away in a separate covered enclosure, possibly something to do with the Avian Flu doing the rounds.

From there we drove the short distance to Hanbury Hall where we had an afternoon cuppa, but no cake so not Fika.  We then took a look round the gardens before leaving.

Fika is the topic for today's Mono Monday hosted by heanku so I took a photo of what possibly was a Fika taking place in the Jinney Ring cafe (though I have no evidence of coffee or cake!).
