Torrential rain around 1pm this afternoon, just as I was preparing to leave for the bus to meet S, and heavy rain for at least half an hour. So I cancelled. 
Earlier, had a visit from a guttering company to inspect the gutter as I have a damp spot along the hall wall. His photos show a patch of broken and loose slates  ...there's always something to worry about, now I need to find a roofer!!
