Ye Olde Reine Deer Inn

A trip down to Oxfordshire with Rick to watch Chester play Banbury United. On the way we stopped at Hatton Locks on the Grand Union Canal for some geocaches and lunch at a lovely little cafe. From there we went into Warwick for a few more geocaches and ended up getting caught in a heavy rain shower.

We arrived at the ground at 4:30 so walked into Banbury town centre for a drink at the White Horse where we bumped into Howard who had come down from Dumfries for the game. We were then joined by Darren and Jon who had come on the train from Chester. This wasn't a planned meeting but it is a guarantee that if we walk into any CAMRA pub on a Chester away day we will bump into people we know. Our next port of call was Ye Olde Reine Deer Inn round the corner. I was going to do my usual match photo but  this photo of the pub sign with the full moon in the background was much better.

The game itself finished 2-2 with Chester equalising in the 88th minute. I must admit it was a rather fortunate point but it is good to draw when you dont play particularly well.
