Aluminium Clad Douglas fir

This is the not the original Tower at All Saints Church in Clifton.

The original church was built in the 1800s and virtually destroyed by fire during Air Raids which consumed many parts of Bristol in December 1940 leaving  many gaps now filled by an assortment of buildings some very good ...and some very bad! Phew...long sentence!

Only the base of the Tower remains and has now been joined by a brutalist style of architecture in the 60's which produced a lovely and functional minimalist building we thought was practical  and includes  the painted glass windows see extra. This one by John Piper depicts 'the river of life'

And of course the Douglas fir aluminium clad spire!
