Youth…

…. can do it!

The refugee camps in Lebanon were severely affected by the pandemic.

The Palestinian refugees have no rights in the Lebanese health system and the camps are overcrowded and in very bad conditions.

When the youth group in Beddawi camp discovered that there was no one that could or wanted to drive a dead body to the hospital, they tried to find solutions. With creative fundraising they turned a van into a very simple ambulance. It’s the only ambulance for this huge camp. They are 15 volunteers that are nurse students and in a year they have transported over 800 patients to hospital. This is Riham, the initiative taker and driving force.
My union is extremely proud to support the project “youth can do it!”
