Ragamuffin

This Coal Tit (Periparus ater) visiting my seed feeder looks like a real ragamuffin. His missus was nice and tidy and so I am not sure what the fella had been up to. Of course, I am jumping to conclusions thinking that the male is the scruffy one and the female was the tidy one, but I have been beaten down into this way of thinking! ;-)

Maybe they were both guys, I don't know. I just assumed that they were both feeding young since they were taking it in turns arriving at the feeder. Expert bird watcher - I am not!
