Greenwashing @Morrisons (?)

Some months ago the Morrisons store in Dunoon (our nearest supermarket) had a big makeover which included the installation of this  electric vehicle charging point.

Cathleen and I both drive electric vehicles now and we normally charge at home.   None the less having    another choice ( and having further local charging points given the rapid rise in EV use)) was welcome

However each time I have been to the  store since it was installed three months ago it has not been working.

Today at the store information counter  I asked why, only (after the staff member's  hurried consultation with a manager)  to be told

A) There  is a “software fault”

 and

B). It was nothing to do with Morrisons and if I wanted to know more I would have to contact the company operating it.

However as the picture  shows not only is the charger firmly & clearly placed  in Morrisons car park it is firmly & clearly branded as “at Morrisons”.

So either I was just fobbed off or the installation was yet another example of green washing - intended to give the impression of environmental concern ( EV usage is only a small part of necessary change but encouraging it is important) but actually doing nothing for it .

Which is it , Morrisons ?
