The wrong side of the bridge

The tube strike meant I had to walk back to Waterloo from the office, which with a bag always feels further than you think.  Especially as the route to the normal side of Hungerford Bridge is through, today, locked up Embankment station.  So I went over the west side of the bridge and enjoyed a different view down the Thames. What is going on outside the Houses of Parliament? Are they dredging?

Frustrating day as although I obviously had to stay up after the party, and didn’t expect anyone to slog in as we can obviously work from home , a really important in-face meeting, confirmed yesterday afternoon was cancelled at the last minute.  All their other meetings cancelled on them so they pleaded to move doughty Euston Films!  Luckily only to tomorrow.  Seth, the writer and I met up and had lunch though and strategised a bit.

I got home fairly early and we went over to see The Banshees of Inisheran by Martin McDonagh at Cineworld Chichester.  An amazing film, it gradually subverts the tropes of Irishness into something more painful, beautiful and sad.  It’s also blackly funny.  Recommended!
