Sunset from up high. Today was a visit to the dentist for a cleaning and then to my parents to visit them. They are doing well. My dad gave up driving recently due to his declining health and my mom let her licence expire during covid. Because she is over 80 she must do a written test every two years to keep her licence and the first appointment she could get was in December. Insurance does not cover you if you have no licence so they can’t drive themselves anywhere. But they don’t go out much and have family and friends to help them get by until she can drive again. They have been ordering groceries on line for a couple of years already and can find most other things they need on Amazon. Their retirement home has many of the services they need right there too, drug store, small convenience store, doctor, physio, etc. I think when the time comes for her to give up her licence it will be an easy transition. So they are very happy to have company and we ordered some take out for dinner.
