La Coruna
As much as I would have liked to spend the day discovering this city I also wanted to visit Santiago de Compostela, the end point of the famous Camino de Santiago (the Way of St James)

The Piper at Santiago (main photo)
After a delicious lunch inside the Hostal dos Reis Catolicos, a 17th century building opposite the famous cathedral, we came out to the sounds of Galician gaita - a traditional music instrument of Galicia and Northern Portugal. In this region of Spain/Portugal, the term gaita is the generic term for bagpipes.

The rain had finally stopped, in time for us to walk through the shiny cobblestone streets back to our bus. A pity about the wet weather, but I still enjoyed the visit.

Extra photos show the magnificent interior of the cathedral in Santiago de Compostela and a wet street in the same city.
The remaining two photos were taken as the ship sailed into the port of La Coruna early this morning.
