Day #2 - San Francisco

Today started bright and early thanks in part to jet lag, and the face that we had an early trip to Alcatraz booked.
What a fascinating and thought provoking place it is.
From there we made the most of the beautiful fall weather…. it was lunch on Pier 39, checking out the dozens of sea lions basking in the sunshine, then we walked up to Coit Tower and Pioneer Park, where this blip was taken.
It shows the view of Alcatraz across the bay.
Next our walk took in Chinatown, the Salesforce Tower and gardens, and then to the Powell/Mason cable car turnaround where we caught a trolley to scoot us back down to Fisherman’s Wharf and our hotel.
Supper tonight was at a recommended restaurant on Columbus Avenue… ‘The Stinking Rose’!…. A restaurant dedicated to the love of garlic!
It is safe to say that we are now safe from vampires for the foreseeable future!!
A great day. Thank you San Francisco… tomorrow we move on, but you have done us proud….
