A different view of the allotment

Spend a glorious afternoon at the allotment today, beautiful weather, sun, gentle breeze and deep blue sky.

Learned that there is space for a shed which is great news as trundling to the allotment with tools in a wheelbarrow, whilst good exercise, takes time. Also learned we can use the abundance of rhubarb growing on the site. Time to make some Rhubarb and Vanilla Jam and try some Rhubarb Cordial.

Today I sowed a row of golden beetroot; a lovely vegetable, a row of peas, put up pea sticks around the first row, planted out lettuce and hoed the whole plot and still had more I could have done.

Here you can see the broadbeans, peas and their sticks and in the background a pear tree in full bloom. Next to the pear tree is an apple then a small gooseberry bush and a blackcurrant bush.
