Nesting swan on Kilmardinny Loch

We'd taken our grandsons to feed the ducks but as it was such a beautiful day the ducks were full, and despite the boys shouting "ducks, come here ducks, we've got some bread for you", few of them could be tempted. We did see quite a range, apart from mallards there were also coots, moorhens, tufted duck and a heron.

As we walked round we spotted this swan who was just returning to the nest after looking for its mate. The nest is only about 10m from the busy footpath on a popular dog walking circuit so they won't get much peace.
